Soft plastic recycling near you: bags, film and wrappers
Soft plastic is plastic you can scrunch in your hand, eg carrier bags, bread bags, crisp packets and cling film. Some supermarkets have a collection point for it.

Binmap lists 87 places that take soft plastic.
The shops with the most drop-off points on Binmap are Tesco (9), Sainsbury's (4) and Aldi (3).
What to take
Supermarket collection points take things like bread bags, fruit and vegetable bags, salad bags, crisp packets, pet food pouches and cling film. Take them clean and empty.
Bottles, tubs, pots and trays are rigid plastic. They go in your recycling bin at home if your council takes them.
Collections at home from 2027
The government's Simpler Recycling policy requires councils in England to collect plastic film from homes by 31 March 2027.
